Beware of Signing Contract

I was to move into a two bedroom one bath for the "one day only price of $499 with a 5 month lease with 1.5 months free and a DVD player. Sounded so good that we payed $50 for application fees and signed the contract and paper work. A WEEK AFTER we had been approved and a week before we are to move in they call and say that it is a miss understanding and there is no special. We talked with the assistant manager who said that the apartment rental is $525 a month and NO 1.5 months free and NO DVD player (which is really not a DVD player after all). So the contract which we signed was a lie. AFter argueing that if their contract is refundable then we told them our $50 dollars is refundable.
