The friendly, helpful manager and staff work hard to make living away from the comforts of home as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The studio apartment is basic, but entirely sufficient. Having a laundry room on each floor was a luxury compared to other apartments I lived in where the only laundries for the buildings were located in the basements. Coin operated washers and dryers are the standard machines for apartment buildings. The shuttle service to and from the university throughout the day was prompt, a convenient service for getting to classes or the library. Bikes are available for those who want to peddle to school or elsewhere. If you have your own computer, bring it, but those of us who were at the Sahara for only a month really used the computers in the computer room, all night if necessary. The computer room never closes. I felt safe in the apartment complex and met many friendly students from around the world. It is the manager and the staff who made living at the Sahara the best it could be. They were always accomodating, ready to solve problems, with a generous spirit and smile.
