I was a short-term renter (2 months). The premises (a transformed 1960s-era motel) are well-kept, the staff is professional, and the general manager Ted is very professional, receptive, and excited to furnish the commons areas very well, with a small theater for DVDs, a real computer lab, clean pool, and a very good for its size workout room. The bicycle ride east to campus is quick and flat, and west of the complex some good things are close: a jog/bike trail along a wash/river, "A" mountain, quick access to Interstate 10, as well as proximity to Downtown Tucson via a redone Stone Avenue. With laundry facilities on each floor, it's easy to find access.
I recommend two things: an enclosed/weather-proof area for locking up bicycles and a study area with desks (I'm not sure if these have been added).
Overall, I felt respected by the staff, and coupled with the amenities, Sahara Apartments feel like the ideal dorm living situation that the UofA can't offer -- good for grad students, international students, and undergraduates.
