We were going to rent a three bedroom and were approved for it and everything. A couple of things made me change my mind. I was told by the manager (a very nice and extremely helpful person) that the unit would be ready on a certain date because there was a little hold up with appliances or something but, other than that, it was all ready and had new cabinets, carpet, paint and, of course, all the appliances would be new. We were also told that it was a corner unit and that there would be only one neighbor on one side instead of one on each side. Since we were moving in from another state, we assumed all of this to be true.Upon arriving, we were anxious to check the place out and drove over after hours to see it. Well, we looked in through the back sliding glass door and viewed the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. To my dismay, the carpet was not new, the kitchen floor was kind of torn up, and the unit was on an end corner but it was the inside corner of the courtyard. No, there would not be neighbors on that side but it seemed like we would have to contend with foot traffic that would be walking by. The cabinets did seem new but it just made me wonder why I was told that the unit was almost ready when it obviously wasnt. I am one who believes that a good relationship is built upon being 100% honest in business matters and just had a bad feeling that this might be indicitive of what I could come to expect from living there. Besides that, the exterior needed paint real bad and we were also told that the unit was stubbed out for gas for our dryer which it was not. We continued looking around and found a very nice place for $40 less a month and in a much more upscale neighborhood. We just had to look a bit more and be patient but, in the end, we found a wonderful place to call home.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed when looking through the window of the apartment you were going to rent. Frist of all, when an apartment is in the process of rehabing, overhauling, whatever you wish to call it; they will be messy with lots of things laying around, torn up, not completed; etc. On every rehab I have ever seen, the flooring and carpet are one of the last things to go in...Dah...why mess up a new floor with paint and moving things around? Yeah, most of the repairs might have been done when you were told...what was your move in date, 1 week, 2 weeks? Have you ever been a maintenance tech? do you know what's invloved in getting an apartment ready for a move in? On most rehabs, walls are scraped, repaired, textured, painted...doors are changed, shower stalls changed...the list goes on. Usally on most apartment repairs, the outside is the very last thing that is done, and it's a rap...ready to go....Again, sorry you were disappointed, maybe you might want to go back and look at it when you were suppose to move in.
