Honest & Fair Review ~ The Good & Bad....

Been living at Sonterra for 3 weeks now. Use to live at Ridgepointe Apts which is just a few miles away. Sonterra is much newer and nicer but also costs more & is noisier. Overall, I am very satisfied moving here! Here's my honest & fair review of Sonterra....
THE BAD:
Noise is a problem at times. The walls at Sonterra are very thin. So you can hear your neighbors when they are being loud or even not-so loud. I can actually hear neighbor's conversations when I'm in the bedroom. One thing I do when I'm in the living room & watching tv or something that has to do with noise is that I always shut the bedroom door. Helps confine the noise.
ULTIMATELY, it's all about LUCK on whether your going to have obnoxiously inconsiderate neighbors. I wasn't so lucky and got stuck with really inconsiderate upstairs neighbors (I live on 2nd floor, they live on the 3rd floor). From what I've gathered from the noise coming from them.... They love listening to bad music (very loudly), have really kinky sex, and they must wear combat boots because while most people will hear walking from their upstairs neighbors. I have to hear loud STOMPING.
Also, don't like having to pay more for my cable & internet. Cox is NOT offered here and is not an option. The only cable company that you can get is through some cable company from the East coast. They don't offer internet through the cable company so you can't save $$ like you could with a bundle pack. Anyways, you should definately look into that. It'll cost you a bit more than usual.
Sonterra is next to one of the busiest roads. And depending on what part of the apt complex you live at, might have to listen to constant road noise. I live closer to the front so I have to listen to cars whizzing by. Try to get one farther to the back, less road noise there.
The GOOD:
I like that it offers full-size washer and dryer for free in every apt.
I LOVE the GARDEN TUB!!! If you're a big bath nut like me, you gotta have a garden tub :)
Safety and Security! All apts have one of those home security alarms. And they have those security gates all around. Feel very safe. Seems to be guarded well. But even if you live in the most guarded and "secure" place in Tucson, I think everyone should get a car alarm. Because this is TUCSON!
All the appliances are newer and every apartment has a microwave.
Love the layout of my apt. Pretty nice!
Location, Location, Location! Love the location. Close to all the stores and good restaurants. Don't have to go far for shopping :)
Got an assigned covered parking space for free! Normally, if you want an assigned covered parking space, you have to pay for it, costs like $15 month, that is UNLESS you NEGOTIATE. Which is what I did, so learn to ASK. You might get it for Free!
So I don't have any parking problems like other's may have :)
For those stationed at Davis Monthan...
I highly recommend Sonterra! You'll get to work within 5-10 minutes. Don't have to worry about being late for work. Also, Sonterra offers a 5% military discount off the rent & military clause. Just make sure that they know you are in the military and you get what's entitled to you.
