The Good and the Bad

I have lived here for 5 years, even through the "condo conversion" process. All they did was slap a fresh coat of paint on the outside. Inside, nothing changed. They do offer several "upgrades" such as different counter tops. Otherwise, the apartments hadn't changed.

I saw several reviews about problems with bugs, but I experienced that for about a month two years ago. They spray frequently, so they are not a problem.

As everyone has mentioned, the walls are thin!! I can't tell you how many nights I have been awaken to someone playing music, having mattress mambo, or just having a regular conversation. You can always here the plumbing from when someone is taking a showing or using the toilet.

The landscape is kept up nicely; however, they like to work on it early in the morning. Many times it was before 7am, and it is always very loud.

This may be a "gated" community, but the majority of the time the gates are open because they are broken, especially the back gate. Each time, it takes over two weeks before they are repaired. I think it was seven times this year so far.

Staff has been friendly enough and the maintenance staff has been pretty good. There have only been a few times that I had to call twice on the same problem, and then they were there that day to fix it.

I like my apartment. It is large (1,000 sq ft) and you can have your own washer/dryer. That is so hard to find in apartments.

The location is the best part. Everything seems to be within a 10 minute drive, even the post office.

The reason I am having to move is that they have raised the rent and priced me out. Each year they have added significant increases (upwards of $50 per year) to the rent and every year their excuse is that "this is what the market dictates". I would like to know what market as other apartments of similar size and location are not this expensive! Actually, several have gone down in rent. I used to be able to negotiate a free month or two on a 12-month lease, so they let me stretch that out throughout the year. This time they refused any type of discount, which in actuality meant a $170 increase for me. That is sad that they would not offer any type of discount for a long-time tenant. I guess they just want my apartment back so that they can sell it. Good luck. Some of the apartments that were sold to realty companies have had rental signs in them for over two months! I should also mention that I just checked their website today and the rent on my apartment has increased an additional $200!!! It's over $1,100 for a 2 bd/1 ba. That is outrageous!
