DO NOT MOVE INTO SPRINGHILL UNLESS YOU HAVE A GOOD LAWER!! I first moved into Spring Hill Apartment in early fall of 2006 with a roommate. After I left for boot camp in early 2007 my roommate decided to sublet my room without my permission. I used a JAG lawyer to get me out of my portion of the lease through the Soldier and Sailor Relief Act, which I thought handled the situation. My roommate broke his portion of the lease a few months later and was charged a lease breaking fee of $1500. Fast forward to 2008, Springhill Apartments sent collection agencies to my doorstep asking for the $1500 lease breaking fee that my roommate apparently did not pay. Even after repeated calls to the collection agency telling them that it is unlawful to charge a Sailor a lease braking fee when the lease was broken using the SSRA and to push the unpaid lease braking fee of a roommate onto the military member, they still claimed that I owe them money. After another visit to a JAG lawyer, the collection agency finally admitted that I don t owe anything. Similar incidents happened to many residents including my sister (who moved into the apartments back in 2006). Spring Hill claimed that my sister owed $700 for a late water bill, which was later disputed and ruled in my sister s favor. THESE APARTMENTS ARE NOT WORTH THE HASSEL!! Oh, and as for safety, there is a half-way house sharing a fence with the backsides of buildings 1, 2, and 3 .how safe would you feel if you and your friends go for a swim in the apartment pool and meet meth-heads and identity thieves that are fresh out of jail, who also decided to go for a swim' My neighbors and I didn t feel too safe when that happened back in December of 2006. Like I said before, DO NOT MOVE INTO SPRINGHILL!!
