Apartments are okay

These apartments are okay... not the best I've ever lived in, but not the worst either. My four biggest issues are slow maintenance (they simply don't have enough help and the maintenance staff is sometimes shared between different complexes for the same management company), crappy construction, carpet, and parking. I've put in 2 orders to have something fixed, and it still hasn't been fixed. They do, however, fix emergency items quickly. The apartments are really crappy for the price. A couple of guys were actually painting the entire apartment AS we were moving in. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets are made from particle board and are held together with small nails (and are falling apart). The inner doors have veneer on them that is coming away from the door. Our outlets are loose and plugs just fall out. Our front door has about an inch of blank space from the floor so bugs and other things can just crawl on under. The walls and doors are so thin I can hear people's conversations outside. The carpet is crappy, thin, wears easily, and is SO difficult to keep clean. I'm vacuuming daily and using a wet-vac to get spots up (I have a baby). I hate the carpet. Parking is a nightmare. When we first moved in, we were "assigned" the wrong parking space and didn't have a place to park for 6 months. There's parallel parking, but it's difficult and there aren't enough non-covered spaces close to everyone's apartments. On the upside, the new management staff is nice and helpful. The grounds are manicured and the pools are usually pretty clean (though over-chlorinated). The pools are nice. The fireplaces are great in the winter. The apartments are also near so many things (like grocery stores, banks, etc.), that you don't have to go very far to get where you need to go. I'd shop around first to make sure this is the right place for you, but it's not terrible.

I currently live at Sundown and I agree, the carpets are still a mess and parking is a nightmare. The grounds are pretty but the apartment walls are paper thin and the staff is not helpful. You can get more for your money somewhere else.
