This review will be very lengthy so I will start with a brief summary and later go into more detail:

Here are some things to expect at Sunrise Ridge Apartments:

-Attitude from the staff/poor service towards tenants
-90 degree apartment for months out of the year
-Poor outside maintenance (trash, broken objects, cracks, potholes, etc)
-High crime
-Lazy maintenance workers who lack knowledge

I have thoroughly read all the reviews. The negative reviews are generally very on target. It is unfortunate that some of the reviewers are not very articulate which causes possible residents to shrug the review off. I can definately understand their frustration as I am sitting in an apartment that is near 90 degrees. Below I will provide more in depth information.

MANAGEMENT ATTITUDE AND CARELESSNESS:

I have lived here for a few years now. Over time, the management gets worse and worse. Many times, they are not there during office hours (there are 3 people working in the main office at one time). In addition, it is rare that they return your phone calls. There used to be people on the staff that would do everything in their power to assist you. Oddly enough, they are laid off and the bad ones remain. I believe that management should do their best in assisting their customer if there are real problems. I know many people want everything their way and are selfish. The problems I have had are very valid, not complaints about not liking the neighbors or anything of that nature. The management are condescending, rude, liars, or oblivious to what is going on around them. Many of their mistakes are careless and to try to save a buck or two. The odd thing is that by not addressing many of the problems, they make them worse and it ends up costing them much more money.

HOT APARTMENT

Plain and simple, we live in Tucson and it's hot. We have a system (boiler') where you have AC or heat. Generally, the heat is turned on in October and is turned back to AC in late March or April. In March and April, the temperature in Tucson gets up to 90 degrees. These apartments have carpet and stay very warm without the heat, even in the winter. I have never used the heat and it will be 75 degrees inside. Opening the windows doesn't do much and isn't a great idea because of the high crime here. Right now, everyone has their windows and doors open. This is all around the complex. Many people have brought this up to management, but for some odd reason, they choose to do nothing. Not only that, they lie and say no one else has complained about this issue. I can prove that is a lie just by the fact that you can see complaints in other reviews about this. The heat should have been turned off weeks ago and EVERYONE would have been happy.

OUTSIDE MAINTENANCE

I'll keep this more short. If something is broken outside, it's staying that way for at least weeks. The staff rarely cleans the complex. There is garbage all over the streams, broken glass all around the complex, and a beat up laundromat. The laundromat machines are average (at best) and are expensive too!

CRIME

We have a lot of cars and apartments that get broken into. Much of this is from residents. Management does almost nothing about this. This is upsetting because they know who these people are sometimes.

MAINTENANCE WORKERS

I have talked to many people that have had objects stolen from their apartment when there was a worker there. I am guessing these maintenance people don't make much money, maybe not even minimum wage from the things that I have heard. I have talked to a couple past workers about this. They go through new maintenance people every few months. Many times, the workers will not come by or they will not complete the job. The lady below me has had the same problem along with a gentleman I talked to in the laundromat. The lady below me has had termites and she has had them come out countless times with a result to no avail. Along with myself, she also has had many of the appliances inside break quite consistently.

To sum is up, I will not be renewing my lease. I have noticed many more people moving out. Whenever you see someone else in the complex, you just exchange complaints every time. For the people that are frustrated as well, I have put together a convenient list of places to visit:

Very valid and accurate review. Thank you for taking the time to warn possible new tenants. I agree 100%. Do not rent here, it will be a nightmare.
