Horrible manager, horrible place!

I lived there for about 2 1/2 months. In those 2.5 months the A/C broke down twice, the manager inspected it numerous times, i was lied to about entrance by the desk staff, maintenance left doors unlocked, the mail box was broken and mail was stolen. The office staff is generally temps, not real employees. They were all stupider than dirt. The safety of the place is terrible. Living on the streets is a better choice than this place. The furniture is trash. My table was just a piece of wood sitting on a piece of metal. I had to find that out the hard way. The dresser fell apart, it was just wood and staples. I lived in a 4bed/2bath. This means i had 5 doors to keep an eye on and 5 windows that were as thin as paper, and didnt exactly lock at all. The blinds would open ok, but it took hours of trying to get them to close. I gave plenty of verbal request to get stuff fixed, but they pretty much blew me off. I didnt bother giving them any formal letters until i terminated the lease. The landscape was pathetic, just a few desert shrubs and a few rocks. My neighbors were about 10 -------. They cooked curry for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and anything in between. I would walk out and get a good whiff of that. That is not a way to start a day, but that was just a bad luck situation, and almost any apartment someone will have interesting smells coming from their kitchen. The garbage dumpster was always wide open, so if there was no breeze, or a breeze coming toward your place, when you opened the door...well you can imagine. If someone was outside the general vicinity of your door, you could hear them loud and clear. The neighbors would often have parties, or just be loud. It was very difficult to sleep many times. Inside, noise carries very well, hopefully your roommates are deaf mutes, other wise normal talking or music floods the place.

Don?t let the offers of high speed internet get you, they dont have anything. What you get to do is call cox cable and order it, like any other place. There was a discount on the set up kit, but nothing special. They also claim to have roommate matching. They told me to write something on top of the application and maybe they would use it. Ofcourse, they never even looked at it. I requested a non smoker, and they brought in a smoker. Ofcourse, their money is more important than tenant health. The individual leases are nice, but the manager took advantage of that and performed several inspections on the other rooms, claiming she had the right to do that. I once had a few boxes in one of the empty rooms, she came in for an ?inspection? found the boxes and tossed them into my living room. She then grabbed one of my computer receipts and wrote a note on it. She couldnt even use her own paper, that would cost too much...

If i have to say something good, well it never leaked when it rained, never had any bug problems. It had decent laundry facilities, but the lower sie of decent, as the coin machines were often broken, and you would never get your quarters back. It was sort of nice having a door in your bedroom, but it did raise security issues. Ofcourse, it had upsides. One wall in the living room was made of brick, and that was nice. There were plenty of parking spaces, but there was nothing keeping people away from the cars. Supposedly security came by hourly in the night, but i never saw them. I did see alot of cars that had been broken into.

I would only reccommend this place if you have a really good lawyer, or like unexpected company. The place was ok when NorthStar management group was in charge, but then Scotia Group took over, and brought in a manager with a stick so far up her ass branches were coming out her mouth.
