Apartment management allows no one to move in before a specific date, supposedly to allow a time for cleaning. I moved into an apartment wherein the pantry, washing machine and cabinets where full of beer cans, not all of them empty (I suppose from "one last party" that the previous residnets had thrown). The floor was soaked with beer, and there were what appeared to be urine stains across all the floors and furniture. Our furniture was so badly damaged that it had to be replaced. However, this was not done for some months, as every time we submitted a written request, it was "lost." Our hot water heater and dishwasher were broken, and went unrepaired, within a month. Despite the police, I never felt safe. My car was stolen from the apartment parking lot (the same that staff had called "the safest place to park" when I moved in). Shady characters would follow me if I ever went out walking. The party atmosphere, while sometimes fun, also brings in some frightening characters: drunken fellows threatening to throw rocks at you and so on. Our door, despite the double deadbolt, was not secure. The frame was broken, as if someone had kicked in the door, and management refused to fix it. Star Ranch does not foster a community atmosphere, and so I never felt comfortable with my neighbors, either. The staff were incompetent at best, though I beleive that this could be because of a high turn-over rate amongst them; each month, when I paid my rent, an entirely new staff would have taken the place of the one that was there the month previous.
All in all, this would be the worst place that I have yet lived in to date.
