Lived there for 2 yrs several yrs ago. The air ducts are filthy - ie., instant allergies to everything, but especially mold. Pool was a bed of killer algae, Overall maintenance was poor, leaking fixtures, ugly and nasty hall carpets from allowing pets. Management has severe "selective hearing" problems, hates smokers but is not a non-smoking bldg., discriminates against children and others, and is locally run by a woman whose previous job was cutting hair.
I could go on, but JUST STAY AWAY.

New ownership, new hall carpets and paint and much improved maintenance. A clean and sparkling pool. Have not crawled into the air ducts!

I unfortunatly have had to. Like another poster, my apt becomes filled with smoke from other tenants. I've cleaned the air ducts to the best of my ability, and have sealed around the wiring and piping. I know of at least four other residents who have had the same problem. While I love the Van Buren, and think Mary is an excellent manager, the air quality is an issue. I have developed severe allergies in the 5 years I have lived here when previously I was not allergic to anything.
