The Van Buren is a well built apt complex. The neighbors are friendly. The grounds are well kept, and the neighborhood is nice.

The one major issue is smoking. Should any of the neighbors in the nearby apartments smoke, our apt becomes filled with cigarette smoke. It is a major health hazard that cannot be addressed as residents are allowed to smoke in their own units. There is a rule againt being a nuisance to your neighbors, but smoke wafting though the ductwork is not considered such by management.

The management company, MEB, is useless to deal with. Despite multiple phone calls over the years, I have yet to have one be returned, or have any issues left on their message machine dealt with.

This all being said, the complex is the nicest I have ever lived in within Tucson. One could only improve their living conditions by owning their own house.
