Caveat Emptor: it's okay if your willing to work

I both agree and disagree with everything that has been posted here before.
Firstly: The new management is hit or miss, sometimes their nice, sometimes they are rude and apathetic. The old management however did, in my mind, practice discrimination. The new company is fine, but the manager comes a cross as not caring what you have to say. The rest of the office staff changes so much that Iāve never had a chance to build up any kind of animosity.
The maintenance crew is hardly adequate for the size of the apartment complex; they donāt really seem to do anything but drive around in their golf carts. My dryer has been broken since I moved in; it works but makes horrendous noise for the first 15 minutes of its cycle. My carpet is probably original, in the bathroom the linoleum is actually put down on top of it. We did have an ant problem, but with some store bought repellent that problem went away. We consistently have issues with the toilets, theyāre either clogged or running constantly, Iāve never brought this up because I donāt pay for water, thus I donāt care (I know, I know, bad for the environment). The grounds are not kept up, the foliage is over grown and there is animal fieces everywhere. You can tell they never have landscaping out as there are just as many cigarette butts on the ground as their where when I moved in (Iām a smoker and it bothers me).
The parking is pretty bad, we got one covered parking spot, and Iāve got to fight for an uncovered parking spot. The lighting is terrible in these few uncovered spots; as a result my car radio was stolen. There are generally kids running around at all hours, itās not really a bad thing, as that is what kids do. But it seems as though their parents donāt care about their actions, it could be dangerous for their health or the property of others. Especially when theyāre in the pool at nine p.m. with no adult supervision.
In the year and a half Iāve lived here, our rent has been hiked three times. I have not, however, lost a package or mail. Thatās the responsibility of the recipient, not the complex. Iām sure a lot of the reviews on this complex are made by people who are already angry, so their reviews are somewhatā inflamed (Note: Murderers?!) but in general itās not a terrible place to live. If one is active, and doesnāt expect management to handle anything other than the bare minimum itās fine; expensive, but fine.
