Pros and Cons

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I have lived at Zona Verde for a year now, and it has good and bad qualities, with extremes on each side. The location is excellent, just two blocks from the law school, and the grounds are beautiful (very green). I never had a problem finding parking, and I've never been towed, but I have always had a parking sticker. I will say that my car was stolen from the parking lot, so beware of thefts in this area. My apartment has never been broken into, though, so that's a plus. On the negative side, the management jerked my roommate and I around when we first moved in, changing our apartment number a few times because they had given our "guaranteed" unit away. To their credit, our rent reduced dramatically for the error. As for the negatives of living at Zona Verde, it is extremely noisy. There are undergrad parties every weekend, and my upstairs neighbor plays his drums about once a day/evening. We had a major leak in our tub, and the maintenance guy has had to make multiple repairs because he didn't do the job right the first time. Same thing with our termite situation. We told the office about pests, and they sent people to spray our apartment, but the termites were back the next day.
I would say "A" for location and outside appearance, but "F" for safety and noise and repairs.
Last thing: lots of marijuana. You can smell it all over the complex.
