The best apartments in Alameda (but no gym) From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 2/23/2001 Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2001   Very nice property in an excellent South Shore location. Pitched shingle roofs, lots of little courtyards, wraps around a lagoon, private boat dock, gated. Does not look like apartments. Very quiet, very few kids. Owners are always putting in new fountains, roses, landscaping. New dishwashers, stoves, etc. No W/D in unit and no gym only negatives. You get a lot for your money. 20 min. on the ferry and I am in downtown SF. Manager is young and polished. She did the best move in for me I have ever had. Cable and DSL internet. I can walk 2-3 blocks to the beach, bank, post office, grocery, Starbucks. Looked at tons: best in Alameda.
