The dunes are not the best apartments to live at! 1st of all, the noise and police drama from Mels Bowl is totally annoying and constant. I lived on the 3rd floor overlooking mels bowl and I constantly heard fights, cars burning out of the bowling alley parking lot, cops, etc outside of my window. The beach looks okay from the 3rd floor, but don't count on it smelling great half of the time. The last year I lived there I had my car stolen from the so called "secure" parking garage. Also, the manager has had various problems with tenants they are evicting retaliating. Also, the rent is pretty high. I also hated feeling like it was such a hassle just to get outside. It feels like a trip just getting to your car.....I would never want to live there in a fire!! The only good thing is the walls are thick enough that you don't have to hear neighbors too much. OOh yeah, and the pool is almost always freezing cold!

This place is not a good place to live. I don't know that the walls are thick enough. The first night I moved in the upstairs neighbors were fighting and I heard every word. Then on the following weekend which was a three day holiday, the other neighbor was playing his TV so loudly at 5am that the whole complex could hear it. I had to bang on his front door for about 10 minutes before he came to the door! Both were ominous signs that I had made a mistake of moving into this place. People are so inconsiderate and noisy here. I hear way too much and even though I know this happens in apartment complexes, this one has by far been the noisest with people coming and going at all hours. I haven't lived in a place where it didn't quiet down after 10pm and stay quiet till at least 9 or 10am.
