I just read the first review listed of the Dunes and want to know when this writer lived there. I have lived here for 3 years and the current manager has been here over 2 years and the current manager is a jewel. She is a personable, well-mannered lady, who always acts like a lady under very stressful as well as normal circumstances. She works hard to run a well-organized, clean and pleasant home-like environment. She has given open houses for all of the residents so we could get to know another; this is a community with heart. When I had surgery she went out of her way to check on me daily and acted like a true long term friend. The apartment is well maintained and repairs are made quickly and respectfully. I'd check this out if I were you. I think the other 83 residents would agree! Our manager would welcome your visit.

Well, the property manager must be very selective with the residents she goes above and beyond for because from my experience she is just the opposite. Having just ONE open house for the residents does not compensate or make her a great property manager. In most privately managed apartment complexes these types of events is not unusual, so please don't give credit that she doesn't deserve! From what I hear she is very selective with the residents she holds close ties too and the rest of the tenants get the leftovers. So who really cares if she helped you when you had surgery; your the selected few. I don't think she would have went out of her way for any other tenant that she did not know very well. So with that being said, let me remind you; her job is to be a property manager not your care giver-get that straight! And if you are relying on her to take care of you when she is suppose to be attending to the management of the apartments well she isn't doing her job and should be reported to the housing authority. If she has this much time to help you then why doesn't she also have the time to do simple maintenance around the complex? She's not getting paid to care for you she is being paid to manage the property! I would rather maintain my privacy and be more comfortable with a manager who was not so personal, who does her/his job-which to well-maintain the complex (like most managers)rather then a manager like her who plays favorites with the tenants.

I agree. The property manager favors certain people. If she doesn't like you or you get on her bad side, beware! She is hardly in the office during the business hours and she even leaves the front door open when it should be closed and locked! We paid for keys and to have it be a secured property.

You obviously must be one of the people the former property manager likes. If this property manager is so great, how come she has been fired as of April 21, 2009 and is currently being evicted by the owner? The new property manager is a little better but is just as useless since she is only there to collect rent and rent units. She could care less about the tenants and their requests for assistance. Owners need to hire a dedicated maintenance man, update the building (properly notifying each tenant with a notice on their front door giving at least 2-3 weeks notice about any upcoming changes) and hire someone to clean the stairwells, carpets and garage areas at least once a week or every other week. This place is going downhill fast and I would tell every prospective tenant to not rent here but find a place where the landlord cares more about just collecting the rent.

The owner of the Dunes just fired the manager that you're describing. The manager whose name started with A was fantastic. She ran a tight ship and everyone loved her. Her biggest challenge was maintaining a building with owners that care nothing about the tenants. Today, however, the Dunes is a dump, at least the common areas are. I've been here for more than 8 years. This will be my last!

"A" was not fantastic, she was a weird strange woman, probably on crystal meth. Didn't you guys find it strange she was always moving and never seemed to sit still. I am glad she is gone and wish she would stop coming to the property. What a loser, gets fired and still keeps coming back. Must not have a life or her drug dealer is living here.
