Obnoxious, "huffy" manager, poor maintenence, aging building. Several of the reviews praise the same items with similar phrases. I believe that one person posted several of the reviews for this apartment building.
Apartments are all one bedrooms, 500 sq. ft. Building is 1960s. Refrigerator and stove are only appliances. No air conditioning. Wiring is old style, two prong outlets. The center screws are not grounded. Sewer blockages are common. Managment places flyers in tenant's private mailboxes. They also enter apartments without giving notice or they drop notices off at the doors, at night, demanding entry the next morning. Not secure despite fences, the theft of bicycles, etc, from back patios is common. I've watched men walk up the slanted decorative "arch" to the second floor balcony and stairway.

First off, this is clearly a frustrated tenant. Our units are actually over 600sq feet. Maintenance issues are addressed the same day and our mainenance staff is excellent. Any issues that they can not fix on their own we call outside vendors to assist immediately. All of Alameda was build in the 60's, no surprise there. Alameda is on the water and rarely hits 80 degrees so there is no need for air conditioning. The above response was entered during the one heat wave I have experienced in the last 3 years. Alameda is also build on landfill so yes there can be sewage problems as with any building in Alameda. Whenever there is a maintanence issue that is harmful to our tenants by law we do not need a 24hr notice to enter. If it is not an emergency we do ask permission and notify tenants of us entering. Our apartments have controlled access and there has been no notification to the managers of any thefts in the property since I have been here for 2 1/2 years.

There seem to be two managers, both part-time, one a blond and the other brunette, both females. The brunette is always responsive and helpful as well as efficient and polite. The blond is brusque and not very good with interpersonal dealings. So there exists an atmosphere that is unlike what I have experienced in other complexes, which were more tenant-friendly and cognizant that the tenants were assets rather than pests. Thanks.
