Every time you turn around the rents are being raised. One neighbor told me his went up $100, a year after his last raise. Each elevator on the ends of the building, are original to the building and are always out of order. A woman got stuck in one recently and couldn't get out until the fire dept. arrived! The fairly new paint job is terrible. Zukin obviously took the lowest bidder, and they used the WRONG paint! It has peeled all over the building! The only laundry room (on the first floor) has washers and dryers that look like they've gone through a war, are ready to be tossed. The apartments that aren't renovated, either have terribly old carpeting and, it seems, original kitchens. The views are spectacular on the upper foors, and that's the best point of these apts. The new resident manager,"Jennifer," seems to always be courteous and helpful, which is nice for the building, BUT, the management company has a bad reputation. They DON'T CARE. I'm looking for a house now. A mortgage will cost less than this place! Think twice.

The laundry room has been out of service for months and there's no end in sight. Management hired an unlicensed contractor to dig up the slab floor and replace the old plugged pipes - then they got caught doing work without a construction permit from the city. There's piles of dirt and construction debris taking up three parking spaces. The building is so old they have to turn the water off to the whole building for hours to fix one apartment's plumbing problem - this happens once or twice a month. And hardly a month goes without one of the building's three elevators stopping working for a day or two. The building's heat and hot water were off for a couple of days and nights.
