We lived here for about 4 years. And first let me get the bad out of the way:
noise was just plain awful. thankfully out upstairs neighbors used the place as a vacation 'home' and not a regular home, as the noise would have been ultimately intolerable.
There was grass growing in your bedroom. When it would rain water would come through (we lived on the ground floor). In the summer, we had grass growing through those same cracks. And my son had mushrooms growing in his bedroom. When I complained about that the maintenance guy did seemingly act as if I were being a bit overdramatic. but. THERE WERE MUSHROOMS GROWING IN MY APARTMENT.
anyway
Pretty much the place was water-logged.
The same piece of gum was hanging from the hallway light from the day we moved in until the day we moved out.
The good:
Management was overall fantastic. Very helpful and warm.
Living right behind the elementary and middle school was great for when my son started going to school.
The 8 min walk to the shopping center offered up a great view of the bay and a nice bit of exercise.
Rent was reasonable.
The size of the apartment was quite nice.
Living across the street from the beach was just incredible... at night I could hear the waves. And the view of SF couldn't be beat.
I was sad to go, but needed to move because of a job.
