Three years at the St. Francis

We rented Apt 115 for about three years from 2004-2007. We found the St. Francis to be very convenient to shopping (Trader Joe's, Safeway, Radio Shack, Walgreens, Office Max, etc.) A short walk away was the Park Street shopping area, Alameda's main shopping street with small shops, ice cream parlors, and restaurants. Biking was great from the St. Francis. Otis Drive connects with a bike bridge over San Leandro Channel to Bay Farm Island and the airport area. The BART station in the Fruitvale section of Oakland has free bike valet parking when you want to get to Berkeley or San Francisco. The St. Francis is quiet with mostly older residents. We lived by the pool and it was quiet, too. Like most condominiums, the St. Francis has home owner association HOA rules the manager enforces. In our case, fixing cars in the garage was prohibited. Regarding maintenance, our problems, usually with plumbing, were fixed, but not as promptly as we experienced in previous rentals. I guess this is just the California way of doing things. We enjoyed our stay in Alameda and you will too.
