I would sadly have to agree with all of the other bad reviews about this complex. I have lived in this complex for about a month and it gets worse everyday! Being new to the area I assumed I was getting a great looking apartment for a pretty affordable price, and the neighborhood didn't look too bad in the daylight. I am a single mom of a toddler and I work late nights which puts me getting home late only to find no parking! It says in the lease that you get an assigned parking space and I have yet to have that happen. I find myself having to park in dark alley ways or almost at the 7-11 and walking to my place late at night carrying a sleeping toddler with "gang" looking people hanging in the streets. It has me very afraid and upset. Of course I called management to complain and they blew me off and have yet to return my calls!
When I moved in they told me they were repairing the parking lot and reassigning spaces and would have it all done with the gate closed in the next week...it's been over a month with no attempt to do the repairs!! It's infuriating to be lied to like that!! The parking is literally out of control here. People park in the fire lanes and on the curbs and nothing is done about it. Also, NONE of these cars have parking permit decals on their car which tells me they are probably the cars of the "slums" across the street taking advantage of our parking spaces. I am pretty sure of this because most of these cars haven't moved in weeks! Meanwhile...I am a paying resident having to park at the 7-11!
Now for the noise problem....it's disgusting! I swear the people above me make home porn videos and I hear every detail of it. Now..I understand this is an apt. and some noise is expected but this is ridiculous! However, I would have to admit that my upstairs neighbors could tone it down a bit and have some respect for the rest of us. It's totally nauseating to hear a girl screaming to the top of her lungs while having sex....and this goes on regularly for hours at a time! It's sickening for me to hear but when my son has to hear it too...I mean come on!
Then there is the amenities "key" that doesn't work and when I returned it to the manager she took it and said I would get a replacement. It's been a month and I am still waiting. Meanwhile, I have to ask someone to open the doors to the pool etc. for me. I am just waiting for them to try and charge me for the missing key that I returned to them.
On top of that I don't think there is a maintanence man at all...unless he is casper the ghost. When I went through the move in walk through we discovered the patio door didn't lock. Of course management seemed very concerned and would send someone immediately to repair it. That was move-in day and I am still waiting over a month later!! Good thing my brother in law was able to repair it!
I definitely do NOT recommend this place if you want to live somewhere nice, safe and well managed...especially if you are a single mom with a small child!
I just wish there was something I could do about the parking situation. It's clearly not safe and would think there was some sort of lawsuit we could bring up considering it's in the lease that you get an assigned parking spot in the complex.

I agree I have been here at Summer HELL for almost a year, my least will be up soon. When you first come to inquired about renting a Apartment they give you this line of BULL SH___ and everyone of the so call Leasing Employee are long gone. The Rent here is ridculous. Go on Craig's list and compare, the Kennedy-Wilson Mulit Family Group is ripping us off. The parking is horrible, if you have 3 people that drive in your family you are only allowed 1 space, and then they expect you to park on the street, and walk to your apartment at night, early morning what ever the case maybe. We are living in a Sick,Sick world, and I think for them to charge this crazy AS__ rent and only be willing to give you 1 parking space is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Then there is the so call recreation spot the Gym, give be a break, or better yet everything in there is BROKE, because there are people in there who don't belong, and when you go in there and ask How did you get in here? they just say Oh I don't know. How scary is that you go into the Gym to have a workout and its stangers in there anyone could get Raped, Murder ect... and who would be the wiser. The people in the office never return your calls, this place is no better than when it was the BV's and they kick out all the so call low class, trash or what ever you want to label them. Now we just have high paying trash living here Dogs running crazy, noise neighbors Oh and don't let me forget the charging of the Water, and Garbage, How did i get sucked into that, with as much rent as they are charging that should have been included. Some needs to set up picket signs and stand out in front of the leasing office and warn future tenants to not rent here or better yet rent at your own risk. A list needs to be started with so many unhappy tenants its not fair that this management group is getting rich off out hard earn money and we are not getting what they promised in return.

I totally sympathize with your situation and urge you to contact The Kennedy-Wilson Multi-Family Management Group at 916-847-6500. The more complaints they get, themore likely it is that something will be done. ALso, the city of Alameda has a website and you can go online and register a complaint. Addtionally, contact Sentinel Fair Housing in Oakland.
