We move here 5 months ago and we're actually thinking of breaking the lease. The neighbors upstairs is so loud you can't sleep at night. We try to understand the squeaking floors since this is an old apartment given a new paint but there's only so much you can take. And there are molds in our bathroom. We reported and they just painted it and NOW the molds are growing back. UNACCEPTABLE. I've reported my remote for the GATE for the third time and it's STILL NOT WORKING.
ADVISE to anyone. DON'T rent here. Or you'll soon regret it.

You can legally break a lease if you have repeatedly asked the management to fix something and they haven't (i.e., the mold, the gate remote) and the problem continues, making the apartment untenable. I know - I broke my lease at Summer House and got my full deposit back. Contact Sentinnel Fair Housing in Oakland and they will help you like they helped me. I now live in a wonderful, quiet complex and am soooooo happy to be out of Slummer House.
