My wife and I moved from the East Coast for work and we did have a lot of time to look for a place before we moved. We decided to move into the Summer House due to a co-workers reccomendation and because of the two free months of rent. After living here for almost a year I can honestly say this is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in and/or seen. I have listed some the reasons I would not recommend living here. I'm sure there are hundereds more but these are all I have time to write. I read the reviews about this place before I moved in but thought there was no way they could be true.

1. The management and staff are stupid, lazy, and are only helpful before you sign your lease.
2. The Summer House is located in a terriable neighborhood.
3. It is right next to a college and a good deal of the renters are college students who think this is their college dorm.
4. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbors do. Since a lot of the renters are college students this means loud parties and music.
5. Parking SUCKS.
6. The management and staff are stupid and lazy. I know I already listed that but it is worth repeating.
7. If something breaks in your apartment it takes weeks for the maintenance people to fix it, if they bother coming at all.
8. People in the complex are constantly smoking marijuana and the halls and outside area stink with the smell. Several times the smell has gotten so bad that I have had to close all my windows so my apartment didn't stink.
9. Someting is always broken...the lights in the stairwell, the pool, the front gate, the list goes on...
10. The management and staff are stupid and lazy. It is worth repeating again.

IF YOU MOVE IN HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree - everything he wrote is 100% true. Do NOT rent an apartment here as you will regret it. I contacted Sentinal Fair Housing and they helped me get out of my lease with no penalty AND get all of my deposit refunded. You CAN fight back and win - don't let these scumbag crooks get away with breaking the law; and don't live there one second longer than you have to. Don't believe the lie that "one disgruntled tenant is writing all the comments" because it isn't true. I talked to sooooo many other tenants who had all the same complaints as me.

I agree, the office staff is so unprofessional, they don't tell you vital information, that could hurt you later, tranfering apartments up or down sizing, they make you pay depostits all over again, and mail you back the deposit on the old unit, they claim the deposits follow the unit not the person. hallways always dirty smelly, the gate was just broken again, for the 100 time. I can't wait to move out of her too.
