I lived at Summer House for almost one year, but began looking for a new place almost 2 months after I moved in. They get you with the low move in costs, but that exactly the problsem: they get everyone and everything. The police and fire departments are always there. The security gate for the paid parking area is always broken and wide open for people to come in. People selling drugs have begun to congregate around two of the entrances and have caused issues for a guest visiting me one day. The units are overpriced for what you get and after one year is up, they raise the rent. There is really to much to list so unless I was facing homelessness, I would not suggest Summer House.

When is the city council meeting?? It is such a JOKE about the Club House, I have been at Summer House 2 1/2 years too long, and I am looking to move as soon as my lease is up, however I have been paying for this Non-Club House since I have been there, and the Gym is a Joke to, my husband went to work out, and as usual it was under contruction. Give me a break!! and you want almost $2,000 a month in rent. The staff are soooo bad!! and the most stuck up people I have met in along time, they really have it in their minds that they are Leasing Manager's of a Luxury Apartment building... boy they were brain wash really, really good. Any way STAY AWAY do not rent here you will be sorry!!Don't let them fool you about the move in special's because there is nothing special about it.... It is just a Ruse, because they all work on commision, so the more Apartments they Lease the bigger their paychecks look,PLEASE look on Craigs List in San Leandro, Hayward, you can get 3BedRoom House's with 2 Bathrooms, with Washer and Dryer connect for $1,500 to $1,750.00. Oh and don't forget at SummerHouse you pay for WATER, ELECTRIC (ALAMEDA TELECOM) HEAT (PG&E) CABLE, RENT, PHONE, And if you have more than 1 car you can forget about parking, How stupid is this family of 3 everyone drives you have a 2or 3 bedroom, but you only get 1 parking space, and then the Lovely office people (LOL) tell you parking on the street or you will be towed, while they park where every they want to park, Oh and 1 more thing what's up with the VIP parking JOKE!!! who in the H___ is VIP. Oh and 1 more thing the Washer and Dryers are either on the 2nd floor, and or the 3rd Floor been there 2 1/2 years and have washed there maybe 4 times. Ok well I guess that is enough for now, cause I could go on and on, and on you get the point. DON'T RENT AT SUMMERHOUSE STAY FAR AWAY TAKE A GOOD WARNING WHEN YOU HEAR ONE, DON'T SAY YOU WERE NOT WARN!!!!

First of all summer happy before you start writing learn how to spell, 2nd of all you say i am secretly writing on the web site what the hell are you doing or is your god given name summer happy you jerk!!! you are a butt kisser, or either screwing the staff... you dumb ass they promise the club house when they re-did this place years ago and oh wow now its been approved Yea!!! so what we are suppose to do now throw a freaking party you ,kiss ass!!! why don't you go and buy a house and stop kissing so much butt this place is horrible and you know it, Oh but it is probably a step up from your trailer park.. you probably kissed so much butt that they probably are not charging you what they charge everyone else for rent and you are a lonley jerk.. who like writing on web site and not stating who you are JERK!!! If you love living at Summer House good for you butt hole, every one else doesn't have to just because you do. There are great place all over this island but since you are trailer trash they saw you coming and said hell no I am not renting to this jerk, so you decide to come to summer house cause you know you could kiss butt, and be happy. The Alameda City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The Mayor is trying to get an ordinance passed that every time the Fire Dept. is called out for things like broken elevators, the OWNERS will have to pay a fee. Summerhouse sounds just as bad as it did when it was Harbor Island Apartments; except that you are paying much more. Some of the other violations you mention are things that should be reported to the Health Department. If dogs are allowed, dog owners are supposed to clean up behind them; not allow them to crap all over the place for other people to put up with. They claimed the heater was broken for the pool when it was Harbor Island Apartments. They are not required to heat the pool; however they are required to keep it clean.

I Just moved in 10 days ago. This place is terrible! First of all, the pool seems to be the community pool for all West Oakland and ghetto Alameda kids. I tried to bring my son to the pool and about 30 black kids started harrassing me shouting," Get Yo Baby Out The Pool!" Second, there is no parking anywhere within 3 blocks. Third, the gates are broken and at night all the thugs enter. Fourth, Groups of teenagers hang out all night in the laundry rooms smoking blunts and acting loud and dump their tobacco all over. And the most disturbing part is that management seems not to care. It all comes down to their bottom line. So don't be fooled by their pitches like, "Here's our pool." or "It's a secure building." Trust me it's not Summerhouse's pool, it's ghetto peoples pool and it is not safe.
