If you are looking for modern living at an affordable cost then Summer House is the right place. Everywhere else in Alameda is old and shaggy. Being the biggest property in Alameda with the nicest pool, of course it will attract lots of attention which means good and bad. Summer House is located near schools and plenty of other small properties that aren't as nice so the kids will come walking through but with the new security they have improved a lot. We have pool security now so that not just any kid can come in and use it. I don't have a problem with noise because I have nice neighbors so perhaps before choosing an apartment check out the neighbors or perhaps try to get a corner unit on the third floor. As for the living conditions, I have no problems at all with plumbing or sewage and if you have minor problems with fixtures SummerHouse's maintenance team is awesome. They are fully staffed to meet the needs of all the residence. Once you put in a work order, maintenance will get it done fast. Everyone in the leasing office is great and they do their best to keep everyone happy. Again they are just people working so there is no need to come in with an additude screaming at them because that just embarrasses YOU and make them less wanting to help you with YOUR problem. What else...ohh yeah parking. I admit parking could be better but one spot per unit and you can rent additional ones for $75/month if you like. Do what I do which is alternate with roomates or your spouse with one car in the street and the other in the assigned space. In terms of the trash area I don't know who took those pictures below but the trash area where I live are always clean. I see a tall white guy who listens to his ipod clean the trash area with a water hose and pushes all the bins back in from when they were emptied. He also hoses down the stair ways and walks around the property with a trash stick thing and picks up animal waste that residence don't pick up and trash laying around that again RESIDENCE don't dispose of properly! The maintenance guys are always doing their job to maintain the property and keeping it nice and clean. SummerHouse does not discriminate and they do believe in equal opportunity housing so they can't say no to someone who qualifies but is dirty and messy (I would). The point here is that being a 600 unit property there are bound to be problems and complaints. There are a variety of residences where some residence are neat, quiet and clean (like myself) and there are some who are messy, loud and dirty so expect some minor problems.

I don't think summerhouse has that much time on their hands to be responding to ignorant people like you but for me on the other hand I do. They just ignore all reviews in general. First of all for a FACT...summerhouse does not take Section 8 or else I would have qualified (HAHA). I am not blaming the school at all I was just using that as a concrete detail to prove my point. Also the term "hijack" refers to the use of an airplane so what you are saying is nonsense. Mean dogs? First of all did you get attacked by the animal? I bet you are just fearful in general of pitbulls because of the stereotype on them but they are just harmful pets unless their owners train them otherwise. You can battle me all you want on the property but in the end I still see the units filling up with residence and people are still signing leases you idiot and that's all that matters in the end right? I have a dog and on our walks during the hours after dark I've never seen "Drug Dealers" inside the property. Drug dealers tend to do business out on the streets. Stop trying to bring Summer House down when they are racking in so many people with their $$$ loser.

Still here after two years and its only gotten worse, I can't afford to move right now (bad economy). I'm just glad someone from the office is finally aware of what the residence think and will hopefully address the issues.

You moved out a year ago and you are still writing about Summer House? Get a job!!! Maybe this is why you couldn't afford to break your lease. It's so easy to blame the property, but how about putting some of the blame on the parents that don't take the time to educate their kids on where it's appropriate to go to the bathroom, if parents could teach their children some manners this property wouldn't be so bad. These poor maintenance guys could actually attend to our service requests a lot faster but instead they are cleaning after everyones' kids. I can't wait until it starts raining!!! LOL By the way I would like to thank Summer House for getting a pool attendant this year, it was the best idea ever!!! Summer House definately listens to their residents and maybe we should suggest solutions rather than attack them. I just renewed my lease and I'm looking forward to another great year. I hope I win the Halloween Decorating Contest...=)

Summer House you??re so pathetic, it??s so sad we all know its you, People the reviews are true the place is a dump ghetto living, thugs with their mean dogs, drug dealers. Please don??t blame the other apartment and the school, that??s so sad you have to go there. I am talking about Summer House in side of the building. You can go back on the review s and you will see for yourself. Don??t make the mistake I did. I hated living in Summer House, I moved out last year, and in a year it got worse. They have Section 8 people living there. I would say is about 70% sections 8. If you want to live with thugs/drug dealers. go ahead I have a friend still living there, was there the other night they are waiting to get out of their lease. The trash meaning human trash, feels like you in the hood, gang bangers hanging out side in the Summer House property where you have to walk past them with their mean dogs. Summer house we know it??s you, your liars have caught up to you, and how you have treated people.
