I currently live at Summer House and my lease is ending this month. I have lived here from September 08- OCT 09. I know people have written reviews of Summer House, but I agree 100% with what the reviewers say. These apartments need lots of help. You can see the downward spiral coming. When I first moved in here, the grounds were nicely kept, now trash around the grounds is a common occurrence. This past April my truck had side view mirrors stolen. Sounds strange HUH' Well, if it does, how does paying over 900 dollars to replace the mirrors sound' I did not blame management and had no problems with them until this incident. I asked them to change my parking space since the thieves stole my mirrors before 12 midnight. How do I know this' I have to be at work at night ,so I leave the house at around 10:45 on work nights. Management refused and when I threatened to call the corporate office, she relented and told me she would change my space but it would take time. This never happened. I still have the same space. Parking is horrible. This apartment does not foster a family and friend environment and in my opinion was poorly planned considering there are other apartment around here. None of my friends will visit because finding a park on the street is hard especially after 5 pm. They are quick to tow your car also. The fitness room is a joke and smells like urine to me. There is not much work out equipment in this area. I was greatly disappointed because I thought i could finally cancel my gym membership. The carpets in the hallway are dirty. It seems like the staff members are cleaning them less frequently. The noise from neighbors is unbearable at times especially since i work at night. I can hear their every move since the walls are thin. I hear these apartments take section 8' If this is true it would explain the numerous people hanging out late at night. I have come home at 2 o'clock in the morning and found people outside playing music loud and smoking marijuana. Never the less, at times I do not feel safe. My neighbor told me she saw two kids having sex on the steps in our building in broad day light. I have a hard time believing it but why would she lie. She also said her neighbor used to smoke cigarettes near her door until she cursed him out. Finally, I think these apartments leave much to be desired. If you choose to move here, you will be sorry just like me. I never even bought furniture because I knew the second I moved in , this was a huge mistake on my part. I should have done my research. I still laugh at the fact management asked me to renew my lease. For the money I pay, I have found a better place to move to. i have never been so happy to pay my last month's rent !! Thank God this experience is almost over !!!!
