Yo!

GREAT place to live!

Alicante is a great place to live. I've been here a little over two years and, to date, have had no unresolved problems in my unit.

I've had four maintenance requests. The maintenance team is on the job quickly and without incident. I even had a leaking water heater upstairs one night and the emergency maintenance man on call was here within 15 minutes and resolved the issue immediately.

I've seen several complaints about ants on this website. I have never had one ant in my apartment in two years. Ants only come inside if there is food or water. I am careful to clean up all water spills and I take out the trash twice per day. Ants are a preventable nuisance.

I have renewed my lease while here and have not had a rent increase yet. I have heard from other tenants that the rent increases here are rare but reasonable when they occur.

The neighborhood is safe and relatively well-lit at night (they could add a few lights in the parking areas, but I still feel safe walking to my apartment from my carport). They gym is clean (although in need of equipment upgrades and a new remote for the TVs), the pool is nice (albeit unheated), most people are friendly and they clean up after their dogs. The office staff is always congenial and ready to help. The apartment interior is clean with new appliances, sturdy carpets, and fireplaces in some units.

There is a lot of street noise and I'm not even facing Aliso Creek. This is mostly because of the unruly teenagers coming to and from the high school down the hill. They drive fast and make a whole lot of noise after school. The traffic on Aliso Creek is substantial, so if street noise gets to you, all I can say is try to get a unit facing the hills rather than the street.

Overall, this is a nice place to live and I reccommend it without reservation.
