Great experience EXCEPT move-out charges

I lived at the Alicante for a year with a roommate. The complex is nice and relatively quiet. Management did a good job of dealing with repairs, and were generally helpful and responsive. They also keep the grounds in great shape, which I believe is telling of the overall community & property management company.
My big, and only, gripe is our treatment upon moveout. We were billed over $450 for various moveout charges - cleaning, carpet cleaning, paint. In the past three apartments I have rented, my move-out costs have never topped $160. Both my roommate and myself kept the apartment in good condition, so in our minds the charges were outlandish.
When speaking to management about this, they were dismissive and explained that this is comparable to what I would have paid had I hired a cleaning company to do the work. This is untrue... as I said, I have never been charged more than $160, never mind almost triple that.
I will recommend Alicante, but only hesitantly. I would also recommend taking several photos of the apartment both before and after move out so that you can refute any charges that you believe are unwarranted (I wish I would have done this). lGjq8RUBjvsZjkb5ueji
