I lived at Alicante Apartments for five years. I was very happy during my time there and never had any problems with management or with other residents.

Maintenance was quick (they usually respond within 24 hours) and work was almost always completed during the first visit. I had a clothes dryer that died while living there and they replaced it in about 3 days.

As far as amenities go, the pool area is nice, business center is adequate, and the workout center is OK.

I did notice an unusual amount of "emergency" entering of our apartment by maintenance (without notice) . . . it happened about six times in five years. Three of those times they did not leave a note, but it was obvious that work had been done inside the apartment. It didn't bother us at all but I found it unusual--I mean, even if it's an emergency, they can at least leave you a message. I think it had a lot to do with some really crappy plumbing in the building, so there were a lot of leaks from apt-to-apt and they would have to enter without notice to make repairs.

Honestly, the worst problem we had living at Alicante was a neighbor who enjoyed cooking some truly foul smelling meat on his outdoor BBQ and the smell wafted into our apartment nightly. It was more funny than annoying.

Move-out was a breeze; we actually got $200 back from our deposit. I think people who are angry about move-out charges are often short-term residents, and it's pretty standard in most apartment communities that the longer you live there, the less the charges will be upon move-out.

No, not posted by management. I was a resident for five years, and I now live in a home in San Juan Capistrano. Why would management post a review that cites frequent "emergency" apartment-entering (without permission) and crappy plumbing? I was a truly happy resident, why does everyone assume that makes me an overzealous apartment manager?
