PROS: We first wanted to live at Alicante a few years ago. However, they did not have the floorplan available that we wanted. We moved into a carriage unit in a pet-free building. It is quiet and nice. The unit has crown moulding, a garage, and all the appliances. We are leaving because we have purchased a town home. The real estate market has dropped to where it is cheaper to buy a place than rent.

CONS: There is one set of residents in another building that occassionally have a noisy party. There are also morons who spin their wheels in the parking lot late at night. Buying is now cheaper than renting. When you consider the tax benefits, it is cheaper to buy than rent!

When we moved out, we thoroughly cleaned the apartment. We did a walk through inspection with the Maintenance Staff. He suggested we paint the apartment before leaving, which is contrary to California law. Our lease also explicitly prohibits us from painting the apartment. Because of this, I strongly urge potential residents to avoid Alicante. Besides, with real estate prices so low, it does not make sense to throw money away on rent.

I completely disagree with the posting on this site with the comments on the maintenance staff. Juan has been here since the property opened and so have I. If every property had someone like him they would be so lucky. He and his staff help me all the time and I think it is unfair that a disgruntled person can defamate someones charachter so blatently online and by name. Shame on you
