As with any apartment community, there are pluses and minuses. But the pluses outweigh the minuses. If you have realistic expectations going in, there shouldn't be too many issues...at least major ones.

PROS:
*Lots of parking. Of course it's not always right where you want it to be, but you will find some without a problem, even late.
*Walls seem thick enough - no problems with noise from neighbors next to you. I can't comment on people above you, since I'm on the top floor.
*Noise overall is not bad (but it probably depends where you are). I'm in a pet building so there are the occasional dog barks, but nothing major. It just depends on your neighbors, so this could vary by a lot.
*No major bug infestations to speak of in 4 months...but let's wait until a full summer to say one way or the other on this.
*Grounds are kept up pretty well - no complaints. Someone left a mess near a dumpster and it was cleaned up by the end of the next day. Sprinklers always seem to go off when I'm walking my dog, though LOL.

CONS:
*The people two floors below chain smoke, and I can smell it all the way up on my level. Not pleasant.
*Staff has been nice about service requests, but sometimes it takes maintenance ppl a few days to respond.
*Don't compare the interior and fixtures here to the Irvine Company apartments, because Alicante's aren't as nice. They're apartmenty. Not necessarily bad, just how it is. But the prices are lower.
*Street noise - avoid the units right near Aliso Creek. It can be noisy on that side.
