Not a bad place to call home..

I have been at Alize for a year now. Yea, there were a ton of ants in my apartment too initially, a very common problem in Orange County. The staff sent an exterminator out within a few days (he comes every week to spray whomever needs it) I got the ant problem under control and have had no further problems.(Raid maintenance weekly though) And yea, my A/C takes FOREVER to turn on but I think that is more the type of unit and I dont think there is anything the staff can do about that. The staff, they are so-so. Someone mentioned here that the staff is rude and not professional. I would not go that far but I do agree the staff is not the most friendly in the world. They are competent enough and will get your issues resolved, just dont expect a warm and fuzzy feeling from them. I agree though, for a service type of business, Fairfield properties should be making customer service JOB ONE. It is those of us actually LIVING there, paying rent, that should be receiving excellent service, not just the potential new tenants.

Entrance Gates, someone said the gates are open/closed at weird hours. The reason for that is in the afternoons when the local schools are in session, the gates close. This helps keep the local kids from taking a short cut through the community and might prevent some potential vandalism. I think its a good thing and I dont mind having to open the gate with my remote on the rare occasions I am home in the afternoon weekdays. The gates are always open by the time I get home at night and close around 7pm again for the evening. NOTE TO PROPERTY MANAGEMENT- GET RID OF THE HUGE 1970s BULKY GATE REMOTES AND THE OLD FASHIONED GARAGE REMOTES and invest in an "all in one" key chain remote that allows tenants to open both the gate and garage doors with ONE REMOTE, two buttons. Other properties in the area have been doing this for a long time. SPEND THE MONEY AND DO IT PLEASE...sheez... (Ok, off of sopa box) AS for the other tenants, it appears to be a pretty well-rounded mix demographicaly. I see a lot of young professionals, couples, but not too many singles unfortunately. Lots of kids too running amuck dodging cars driving through. And the dogs, yea, I have never lived in a rental community with such a liberal pet policy. Some of these dogs are big enough to belong in a stable, not a small apartment! Unfortunately, my apt. overlooks the main greenery area where these people all walk there dogs. Most are good about cleaning up after them, but not all. And the barking' Well, you get used to it, but it amazes me more that people actually, in there selfish thinking, keep such large animals in such small confines. IT just isnt humane in my opinion. Tenant friendlines' The typical Orange County "I am too self absorbed to say hi to you" mentality is here just like everywhere else, but if you?ve lived in S. Cal at all, you?re used to that.

All and all, not a bad place. I just renewed my lease and although it?s tough to write that huge rent check every month, throwing my money away, in comparison to other properties in the area Alize is a decent value. I will stay at Alize until I buy my house next year.
