During the first week of living here, the toliet clogs every other time it is used.
The kitchen sink on both sides clogged and still doesnt work correctly. The washer ruined all my washed items by some black greasy subtance getting on everything perhaps because the washer is old, the dryer doesnt work at all. The bathroom fan is filled with mold and also doesnt work right it is so loud it shakes the ceiling in the bathroom. The window blinds are part white part off white guess they add pieces to it but the color didn't matter to them. the other blinds have part long part shorter pieces, its pretty funny to look at. The "large enclosed oval tub" is tiny and there is a large cabinet just to the side so you bump you head each time you get in the shower. Then the part that turns water on you have to have some muscle to get it on. Lucky if you get any hot water. Then the piece that changes it from bath to shower is broken and you have to stick your finger up the bath faucet to manually get the shower on. I just moved in and its been a nightmare. I feel ike crying. The painting in the bathroom is over pieces of hair! I vomit everytime I go in there. I signed for a year ! I am screwed.

I feel your pain. I have been a renter in the aliso area since the town was built. Before the kmart no longer their (lowes). The town was cheap due to loud jet planes from the now closed el toro air base. I have lived at the aventine, st maritz, barcelona, and a lagune niguel location. 19 years total. I am living in Ladera Ranch today. I would first like to say that the Archstone apartment location was good. And like all rental properties, they don't give a shXX after you move in. They only make money on new people moving in. So they don't care when you move out. I will admit that the archstone location was the worst managed I have ever lived in. The staff management was horrible. The maintenance crew rotated all the time and were poorly skilled at best. I had so many issues with the apartment, noise, spiders, leaks in roof, etc. I was very happy when the lease was over and never considered renewing. Parking was a joke and was not organized in any way. I never had constant problems living anywhere else. I expect the occasional noisy neighbor, cars, problems within the areas. I am writing this almost a year after i moved ,"was searching for my next location" so i am not bitter or mad today. Im glad I found this sight by accident and could say " My experience at the Archstone was very bad"

regarding the above: Your story is way out there! I read in the apartments brochure, and on-line at ArchstoneApartments.com and spoke with several of the office staff that the Archstone company offers a Guarantee of "100% Move In Satisfaction" for the first 30 days or you may move-out. I also heard that Archstone has a "Relocation Guarantee" that lets you move to another apartment on the same property or you can even transfer to another Archstone apartments in another state at any time regardless of how long you signed for! ...yet you complain you're screwed. Who screwed you? Sounds like you are having lot's of fun with your miserable self. I love it here and they have always helped me with any problems in my apartment(tho- sometimes a little slow) and always answers all my questions.
