They Prey On Professional Workers

I'm an Orange County professional with some 20 years in the community, mainly working in Irvine/Newport office complexes in roles making $50K/yr in 1986 on up to a-lot-more-than-that now. I don't use words like ' -----' very often; however, that is the only way to describe the incompetent, obese, neurotic, ford-mustang-driving woman who put a plaque 'It's not easy being the queen' above her desk and made life a living Hell for anyone who had cause to deal with the office for any reason. She lives around the corner in a condo --not at any of the three Resorts. The Resorts are heavily in debt and it uses one of the most expensive landlord law-firms in the country to electronically sue its customers for anything from rent that is not received in certified (not cash or check) form by the 10th (even if it's on a weekend and you can't get a cashier's check until Monday at 9am). Once they sue you, even if you pay on the 11th at 10am and they sued you at 3pm and agree to drop the unlawful detainer suit the next day, they now own you forever because your name goes in a database in Van Nuys checked by all landlords. Your perfect rental history or your company's credit rating (if you are contractor) is ruined, which is how they like it. If that's what you want, it's waiting for you. I heard many many hard luck stories, including little boy about 8 years old outside my window pondering his family's new life soon as they were packing up a giant moving truck after having been evicted faster than they could pay (22nd).
Other issues: phone lines have static causing problems for Internet (because they used to require you to use their PBX which was substandard installation during construction); speed bumps are at diagonals and are also not level in driveway turns and damage your axils; they have cameras to tell when you enter or leave, but not for your benefit; their gated-entry system is not well maintained; there are mold problems; they don't always actually notify you before entering your unit --and even if 2-3 maintenance guys are coming up stairs and you yell at them to 'get out', they keep coming into your bedroom and telling you they 'have' to get some work done --installing electric fans to pump out mold spores growing in the walls or whatever --you are just 'cattle' to the people that run that place and what you want doesn't matter. They have the best attorneys and you signed your life away. What keeps them in business is an endless stream of people who want to move to the area from poorer communities and a couple of local business developments that started around 2002. They just sit there and bust everyone out for as much cash as they can get (with huge rent increases, excess fees, etc..) as quickly as they can and then sue them the he11 out to make room for the next svcker. It's not like the incompetent ----- running the place does this, she is just the purposely stupid idiot they put in there to sit on the whole mess which is being run by the vicious people in their San Fransisco office. Was once a great community before those people bought the place, but no more.

Where the heck did you live? Because it obviously wasn't Barcelona! We've been living here for 3 years. We've never had any problems with Barcelona....it's one of the best places to live in this part of OC. And add to it, we've lived in 2 different apartments...a 2 bedroom flat at tbe top of the complex, and a 2bedroom flat near the bottom. Pay by the 10th? WTF? How many apartments let you pay their rent by the 10th....read the lease! Due on the 1st, late on the 4th. No cash, only checks! And now, even you can pay by Direct Withrdraw. Certified check if you bounce a check. We've lived in several apartments here in Aliso Viejo...they all have the same policy! Sure, don't pay your rent, and that's what you get....evicted! The place is a business, not here for your leisure. They can take you to court, simply because you signed a rental agreement. Maybe you need a financial advisor or a credit counselor to teach you how to pay bills on time!

Haha. Funny. Does she roll up smokes in her white t-shirt too? Rent is due in advance...if you can't pay it, you should move out. Barcelona is a very upscale community. Seriously, there are cheaper places. Your hardship doesn't require any one to let you live for free in someone else's home. Otherwise why would anyone ever invest in real estate? Sorry - Even the worst attorney would win this case. Especially since you admitted to not paying your rent on time on the internet. Real estate values have increased since 2002 for sure and landlords can ask for more, only because some people are willing to pay more. Do you think you should pay the same rent still? Have you compare prices to the surrounding apartments? What is the difference in a simlar apartment? Why didn't you just move?
