Great Management...Great Policies!

This place is the best place we have ever stayed at. The only thing I can say to people who have been towed...is that maybe they should just hang their tag and quit complaining about being pulled over for it. I have been driving for 13 years...and have NEVER been pulled over for hanging a parking tag. Even when I went to Cal State...with much bigger permits....I never got a ticket for that....thats just B.S.
I used to get back from work and have to battle to find a parking spot, because either tenants would fill their garage up like a storage unit, and use up all the parking for their second car...or apartments with their 5 roomates would park all their cars on site. I'm glad the management starting getting tough with everyone...so no ONE apartment hogs all the spots....now everyone can park. And its no like they did't give people warnings. They gave people one month of warnings....people still didn't obey...they sent out notices they were going to tow....and then they did.
As far as the maintenance goes...these people are top notch. I call in the orders from work and it is done when I get home. All the management people, Leasing people, and maintenance staff are great. Been here 6 months....and I have no complaints. Construction is typical for a condo complex....you'd be surprised how much thinner the walls are in brand new cono complexes for sale. Quality of neighborhood is typical for any apartment complex...even in condos for sale.
The only thing I would suggest is to get a place away from the 2 main driveways....you get a lot of "girlie-men" who play their Brittany Spears music at 3am....its great!
I am not sure why people rip on these apartments....believe me....I have been in ones far worse than this. We had an accident a few months ago...where someone hit a fire hydrant and flooded all the units in our building. The St. Moritz management put us up in a hotel for a few days, then promptly had a crew rip up the carpet and the drywall, to completely dry everything out. They used special equipment to make sure no mold grew anywhere...they discounted our rent for the inconvenience, put us up in a guest suite until the repair work was done, and even paid for our electricity costs for that month. I have nothing but respect and admiration for this place....and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place in the future!!!

A month or so ago i was in the office and someone was plain up and moving out on the spot because of how rude the management was. The lady was complaining about the constant construction going on next to her place with no one doing anything to help reduce noise or cut her a deal or even apologize-just snide remarks with no care about keeping her as a renter (you'd think they would try a little harder given how greedy they come off)-i just like that your noise rating was just perfect..in fact all of them were. what a tool!

This review was written by someone who works for St. Moritz. This has been known to happen on apartment review sites, especially when most reviewers are not happy with their experience. Notice how everything was given the most possible points each catagory could get. Even the irrate reviewers didn't mark every box the worst. It's time to call out these greedy and coniving apartment managers for what they really are-pigs.

Managment is completely horrible. Shaye Anders is a total witch and unprofessional. Her staff is so intimidated by her that they follow her in her mood swing attitute. Linda at Coorporate does not return phone calls this place should be sued for all of it's problems.

Another BOGUS review to keep ratings up ... more of us REAL renters should start making fake e-mail accoutns and registering ACTUAL reviews to balance these out!
Look at all the "5.0" rated reviews ... they all address exactly the same issues: "best place ever but moving out, best managament, best maintenace, no parking problems" . Just read these and think the opposite and you will get the truth.

Bogus review....I don't think so. I wrote this review 3 years ago. I've lived at St. Moritz (2004), Barcelona (2005-2006), & City Lights (2007)...been everywhere. Yes, St. Moritz had its issues. Lots of move-out charges, whereas Barcelona just charged us for carpet cleaning & std cleaning...we got most of our deposit back!
St. Moritz, a whole other story. Yes, problems with theft. Stuff was taken off our doorstep like mail. Never happened at Barcelona. All apartments have their share of problems...City Lights in particular. But if you hate the problems, then buy a place. Living in apartments sucks in general, if you ask me.
Parking was a real issue at Barcelona...because they had no tow policy. After walking a mile to your apartment, because everyone is subletting....you get a real appreciation for the tow policy. Never had our car towed at St. Moritz, although it was a bit nerve-racking....had to check the car like 3x a night, to make sure hang tag did not fall off. I don't like the idea of no parking, but I really hate the idea of a college student getting their car towed because they perhaps forgot to hang their tag....it should all go by license plates (not a permit), if you ask me.
Great garages at St. Moritz...at Barcelona, they are short, shared garages for the 2 bed flats. Was really missing the storage at St. Moritz. St. Moritz seemed a bit friendlier, but Barcelona was a lot more relaxed. I knew many Barcelona neighbors who came from St. Moritz.
We walked into their office recently, and noticed all the management was different, so I can understand why everyone thinks I'm working for them or something. Cannot vouch for now...maybe it does suck now. But, in 2004, it was pretty cool.
Getting our apartment flooded by a stupid fire hydrant wasn't cool. We were homeless for 2 weeks, while they fixed damage to building 67. Back then, we didn't have much furniture, and we had insurance, so it wasn't a big deal. The guy upstairs had a total loss...he moved in before insurance was the law..dope! Yes, I got into it a couple of times with management over the phone about what they needed to do. In the end, they came thru...covered most of our expenses.
Maintenance wasn't too bad....then again, I didn't have much to fix. Joey at Barcelona was way, way better...I think!
Property director did favor a few people...as did Barcelona when we lived there. Kind of unprofessional. If you want professionalism, City Lights takes that prize. Best I've seen...so far.
Ants....a problem at both St. Moritz and Barcelona. Figgin' everywhere! No ants at City Lights...but black widow spiders aren't much better.
At the time, did they deserve a 5.0....from my point of view, yes. Nowadays, having lived in other places....I think my opinion would be a bit different. Maybe a 3.0, if that. We recently visited the place to check out their townhomes...and we decided against it.
It was actually the strong negative opinions here that turned us away...so keep up the feedback, good or bad!!!
