I agree completley with the long term tenants post. In comparison I have been here a short time, but long enough to know I do not intend to spend another year here. My problem is with the new parking policy and the managments refusal to work out a solution with existing tenants. New parking policy (Effective 05/01/06) states that all resident vehicles must display a parking permit with a limit of two parking permits per unit. Any vehicle not displaying a parking permit is subject to immediate towing at the owners expense. Fair enough advise any potential new tenants of the parking policy and allow existing tenants (with more than two vehicles) to complete their current contractual obligations with the understanding that they will have to sell a vehicle in order to renew their lease. There are three of us on our lease, however we were not given the option of finishing out our lease. When we tried to address the problem with the tenant manager she told us "it was a company wide policy and out of her hands" and told us our only options were to "sell a vehicle or move". When we contacted the managment companies main office we were told "that kind of policy is determined by location and we should discuss it with the tenant manager". Fortunatly our lease expires in just about six weeks otherwise my next call would probably have been to the fair housing and mediation board. In the mean time it is ok for me to live at Don Miguel, I just cant park at Don Miguel. I would not advise anyone to move in here, and if you do move in here and encounter any problems do not expect managment to work with in a reasonable manner.
P.S. We always pay our rent on time, and we are quiet to my knowledge there has never been a complaint made against us.
