I have been living at Miramonte/Madison Park for a few years now. It was the best choice cost-wise but now that my lease will be up in a few days, they want to go up nearly $300 on my next lease! This is outrageous! My neighbor has been living here for 2 years and now has to move out because of this increase. If I could afford that much of an increase, I sure as heck wouldn't be living here! Every few months I have new neighbors. Obviously they cannot afford the rising rent, but where are all these people moving to' Somewhere in Pomona' The rent may be cheaper there but you might get shot a couple of times before you can get to your car. Some may have to resort living in crappy areas that no one who is decent will want to live.
You cannot find a reasonably-priced apartment without having to deal with troublesome neighbors and the owners of this complex are punishing good people who may not make as much money as others. They do not care about their renters and are greedy. They are shoving their renters out to poor areas and it's not right.
If Madison Park wants to raise the rent, then they should at least have an educated staff,a better quality living enviornment, new appliances and maintenence workers who will fix problems when they say they will. I still have not had my AC or my toilet fixed and it's been months! In addition to that, here's a few of the many problems I have had with Miramonte/Madison Park:

1. Appliances in kithcen are super old
2. Bathroom sink and pipes are hideous and when I moved in the sink was clogged with a thick black substance and hair that I still can't get rid of.
3. Baseboards in bathroom are cracked. The floor tile was poorly cut.I would have done a better job doing it myself.
4. Shower had mold and other gross stuff in and around it.Was in pretty bad shape. Maintenence sprayed what smelled like pure bleach and said they would come back to finish and replace the shower. Never happened. That was over a year ago and I almost passed out from the heavy fumes.
5. Have not been able to enjoy my balcony for maybe a year, yet they won't go down on the rent.
6. Never replaced the rod used to open the blinds. Instead they put a paper clip on my old one and said "Here, this will do for now".
7. Several times I have had an "pay up or quit" notice on my door...and I always pay on time! I have had to call the office numerous times and straighten things out.
8. Carpet was dirty with the marks of the Maintenence workers' shoe prints when I moved in.
9. Walls had holes punched in them and the place just didn't seem clean.
10. Was promised one unit and was given another that was probably rented out by a crack -----. The place was gross!
11. Mailbox has been raided
12. My car has taken a few beatings by hoodlums or rowdy children who have no proper home training.
13. Neighbors smoke weed or whatever everyday and I can smell it coming through the carpet and my window. I can't even get any fresh air without the smell of smoke or the sound of those people coughing (hacking) up a lung.
14. I had a list of things that needed to be either fixed or replaced that I sent to the office. Maybe three of those problems have been resolved since I have lived here. The office says the maintenence workers are "soooo busy". Mmmmmhmmm.
15. Every few minutes there's people blasting their music when they drive into the complex
16. My window screen has yet to be replaced and I don't have a lock on my window. I have to go to bed hoping I'm still alive the next morning, with all these burglaries and sticks-ups happening.

And they have the nerve to want to go up nearly $300 bucks on the rent' These people must be crazy. This should be illegal but there's no rent cap in California. A new name, a paint job and reconstructed balconies don't mean a thing if the apartment is still crap and the staff are horribly stupid.
To those who are thinking about living here: DON'T! Don't think about it. Make a sharp U-Turn, press on the gas and don't look back!
