My room mate and I have been living in Sierra Heights for almost a year. Our lease will expire in about two months, and it will be one of the happiest days of our lives. I realize that apt. living comes with some inevitable downsides that are just a byproduct of living in such close proximity to your neighbors. Thats okay, its no one fault, and one should expect minor inconveniences in a large community such as this; however, I have never lived in such a poorly managed community. We (my room mate and I) were completely misled by a particular person on the office staff when we came to view the apartments. I know how parking can be at some complexes, and I asked her point blank if parking was an issue. Her response, "not bad". She out and out lied to our faces. Parking is horrible, and that is an understatement. My room mate and I each have a car so we alternate use of the garage. If one of us arrives home after 6:30 p.m.,then we're parking on the street. As a consequence of the bad parking, you have a free for all of people double-parking all over the place, including in front of our garage. Some of the people around us leave their trash outside their front doors for days before they take it to the dumpster. Our neighbors above us let their dog use their patio as its "restroom". Then they sweep it off, where it lands on my, and my downstairs neighbors balconies. It still happens, so I can only assume that my frustrations go unheard by the front office staff. Loud packs of screaming children with no parental supervision run freely on the grounds and streets where they narrowly miss getting their heads smashed by the many speeding cars racing to find a space. During the long hot days of summer, you can look forward to these same unsupervised screaming children and teenagers to be out and about in the complex till 11 or later. So please take this warning into consideration before you plan to move here.
