Moving out - rent increase

I have lived at Avanti since April 2002. I love my beautiful apartment. It has white moulding on the ceilings, white cabinets and a light tan rug. The patio is spacious on the first floor, but I think they are smaller on the second floor. It is facing the back corner by the police department, but I can tune out the sounds. Sometimes there is a beep or siren, but I don't mind it. Also, the library is right next door. There is a pool and a jacuzzi, too.
The main qualm I had was with the laundry rooms. The washers and dryers would break and I was never reimbursed any money. Also, my card was stolen and it had $20 on it. They should use a different type of card, since they charge $25 to replace it. Other apartments only charge $1 at machines for laundry cards, so I couldn't believe the price I paid to do a load of laundry that day!
The underground parking is not the best situation, since some people have car ports assigned to them across the complex. The trash stinks a lot of the time. It wasn't such a big problem when I first moved in.
Well, I have been planning on moving out by October 31st. It was a surprise though to receive a letter the other day saying that rent prices will increase in December. If you are on month to month payments, the 2 bedroom apartment will be $1,380 per month! That's $125 more per month! So sign a lease if you want to pay a more reasonable amount.
Overall, I loved the apartment. I will miss it!
