Our locked car was broken into and items stolen while in the gated carport area.
The management has security cameras at the gate but when we asked they told us they were not being recorded. I asked to switch to a parking spot in a more visible area and was told I couldn't switch, not because they were full but just because that was the rules.
Also, my car was towed away on my first day there. Obviously the towing does not help security whatsoever and is only a nuisance. There is nowhere for guests to park and since you only get one parking spot and for a second car you have the first come first served open spots that are frequently full. There is also scant parking on the street. I had to park a half mile away once.
The laundry is also too expensive.
On the good side, the place is relatively clean and maintenance has not been an issue. But after our car got broken into I don't feel safe there anymore.

It doesn't surprise me about the "cameras" not working as i had the same problem when i lived there back in 2005. I experienced my clothes stolen out of the washroom on a few occasions. I noticed there were "so called cameras" outside of the laundry rooms and when i called the office about the situation i too was told the cameras were "inoperable" that they were actually "fake". They also had signs posted near the cameras supposedly from the "Anaheim Police Dept". That was bogus too. Those were signs Casa Madrid had printed up. They were not from the Anaheim PD. I informed them it was fraud to display notices of any kind that there are cameras if there isn't. I too never had any problems with their maintenence dept but the office facility is another issue. Looks like to me from reading this last complaint nothing has changed. Glad i got out when i did.

I too live in Casa Madrid and the parking is terrible. There are several carports open from apartments not rented but all the open spaces are always full and there is NO guest parking. If you come home after 8:30pm you will be parking 1/2 mile away so keep you tennis shoes in the car. SUCKY management who are only smiling and not doing. I also called Rose Morales at Arnel several times and even faxed and wrote letters with ZERO response. I even called and the person next to her said she was on the phone and that she would call me back right away but never did. Should be fired for this. Customer we are not.

us too!! our truck was towed the first day that we were moving in! and that was the beginning of my beautiful relationship with casa madrid! our locked car was broken into twice to steal meaningless worthless ---- and our tires were slashed. our friends moved in a few months after us (dont know why) and their trucks window was also smashed to steal a skateboard! and then their second car had all the tire caps stolen. ive seen about 5 cars with broken windows aside from ours. this happens all the time and they dont do anything about it. Arnel corporate office DOES NOT call back. never will. i hope to god this company is sued to the ground one day.
