we haven't moved in yet, but we did just put a hold on one of the units here.
after reading all these horrible reviews, im wondering if we should cancel. i know that most people go to these site when they have something bad to say... so the reviews could be somewhat skewed, but goodness.... 47 reviews and only 4% approves. that's pretty bad.

most people were complaining about parking. if we have only 1 car and we're at work most of the time... do you guys still think it'll be hell living here'

the only concern is that the car doesn't get broken into all the time.

seems like the 'villager' which is right next door got better reviews online. i haven't seen that property but it's managed by the same company.

If I were you, I would look for a privately owned apartment and just cancel the one with Arnel. I lived there for a few years and had some issues. My bathroom ceiling caved in, got my car towed for no reason, had bathroom towels stolen, had a bee invasion, and also had a really difficult time getting my deposit back. The complex looks great on the outside, but is a very old place on the inside! I never had my car broken into there....but I heard that it did happen to some people. Plus...Casa Madrid is very expensive for what you get. Now, I rent a townhome that is only five minutes from the beach! It is super nice(like a luxury apartment)... completely renovated when I moved in! It is way nicer and bigger than the Casa Madrid apartment....and I pay less money!! Renting from a private owner is the way to go!

Even if you only have one car, the management has a habit of towing resident's cars. I had one car and we registered it when we moved in; 3 months later it was towed. When I went to the office to get my car back, I was told by the property manager that she "refuse[d] to talk to me" and that I "[would] have to take it up with the towing company". The reviews are bad because the place is bad. I'm actually taking them to court at the moment for the impound fee, the days worth of work that I had to miss as well as my security deposit which they refuse to refund. If you still have the option, I highly suggest that you find another place and cancel out your deposit. If you don't, you'll regret it like the rest of us.

YOU ARE SEEING MANY BAD REVIEWS BECAUSE THIS COMPLEX HAS HAD A BAD NAME FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I TOO USE TO LIVE THERE. DURING MY STAY I HAD CLOTHES STOLEN OUT OF THE DRYERS. MY DOORMATS STOLEN... YES MY DOORMATS! PARKING WAS A HUGE ISSUE. IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE CAR OR VISITORS THAT WOULD LIKE TO VISIT YOU..FORGET IT! NO PLACE TO PARK. UNNECESSARY TOWING IS A BIG PROBLEM. EVERYTHING NEGATIVE YOU READ HERE IN THE REVIEWS IS TRUE. OFFICE STAFF IS A JOKE! ONCE YOU SIGN THE PAPERS..YOU'RE SCREWED. YOU CAN SEE RATINGS FOR ALL APTS! THE NUMBERS SAYS IT ALL.

If your looking to move to that specific area, there are a lot of independant apartments across the street. In specific drive down belhaven turn left on omega, then check athena and Sunburst. This is a renters market, there is no reason to torture yourself by moving into an arnel property.

I live at The Villger, and it is a beautiful property. The floorplans are much larger than Casa Madrid and there are more pools and laundry rooms. But, about your car... it will not be towed or anything happen to it if you park it is in the correctly assigned parking spot and make sure its registered...
