OBNOXIOUS CROOKS RUNNING THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX

I just want to take the time to write an utterly overdue review for The Vineyards apartments in Anaheim, CA. The management staff at these apartments are absolutely unfit for human relations, let alone managing an entire apartment complex. My first complaint: these people LOVE to leave notices on everyone s door about 4 PM when they have certain repairs or apartment inspections coming early the next day; the only problem with this is that they are required by law to leave 24 hours notice before entering into your apartment and they usually are trying to enter early the next morning. I have had things go missing in my apartment before when people have entered while I was not around and I simply do not feel comfortable having these people traipse through my things when I am gone. The real point there is that they make absolutely no effort to give the required 24 hours notice so that I may arrange to have a person home before hand. Another second huge issue is the gardeners. They actually PAY gardeners to come EVERY SINGLE DAY to BLOW LEAVES around with a leaf blower. NO JOKE. I am going to start taking pictures so I can post them up here for everyone to see- it is seriously a travesty what the Vineyards choose to spend our money on here. My issue with the constant dirt/leaf blowing is I have serious allergies to dust and dirt and grass, and they actually come by my window where I work on the computer and BLOW the dirt right into my window by the front door! I have asked the front office many times to have them stop doing this because of my SEVERE allergic reactions to the debris they are blowing into my window, but they have not yet complied with my request as the gardener was just here this morning doing it again! Now, what has prompted me to write this review is the last straw: Some filthy people moved out from the apartment above us and the apartment complex has needed to perform many repairs to the carpets and walls and everything else, even in our apartment because their air conditioner caused a leak in my roommates bathroom (which caused nasty Freon water to pour ALL over his head, more than once because they said it was fixed the first time). Anyway, they have been performing repairs for longer than 3 days now and this morning they sent some non-English speaking person to come sweep the dirt upstairs at 7 AM while my girlfriend is sleeping. There is no carpet up there currently, so you can imagine the noise that you can hear while they are blasting music and clomping around. I went up and nicely asked him to lower his music and he LAUGHED at me and in broken English had the nerve to say that the Vineyards had asked him to get there even earlier than 7 and he basically wasn t going to lower any noise level. I am just sickened by this place, they have billing companies charge us for water (not the city of Anaheim, but a PRIVATE company called NWP which fabricates their OWN standard water rate and also nickel-and-dimes us for so called service fees ). If I had known this information before I moved in, I simply would not have done it! I hope this review will deter others from making a HUGE mistake by moving to the Vineyards apartments.

Dear Tenant,
I am sorry to hear of what you have endured and, first, I would recommend that you install a hidden camera in your apartment. Our son placed a large sign at the front of our apartment as you open the door stating that YOU ARE IN VIOLATION of the rental agreement. It slowed them down, but they can and will enter your place as they darned well please. I can attest to all of what you have said and can tell you firsthand, it WILL NOT improve up and BEYOND when you move out! Make sure you bring a video recorder, an attorney or friend as a witnesss and go through every square inch of the place on camera with a fine tooth comb. Leave no stone unturned, or they will "create" issues after you move out and charge you for them! As a matter of fact, call the city of Anaheim, you actually do have to pay for utilities twice, once through them and twice through their bogus NWP, unless that has finally been resolved since we moved out. What I don't understand, is why people don't find this site until it is too late. This Lyon outfit was slapped a class action lawsuit up north and the renters won! Someone should take the added measure to not just protect themselves and warn others, but PUT LYON MANAGEMENT OUT OF BUSINESS. Theere is a rumor going around that they are part of Scientology, hence the reason they are so harsh and mean in the office. I don't know about that, but something is WAY off here and it is time that the taxpayer stop getting soaked. The legal community should be notified of this outfit right away.

I actually lived at the Vineyards and they would leave notes saying they will enter and usually it was like the next day or next week. Unless things have changed since last year, I think your just being a little crazy. You don't own the property or run it. When you sign the lease, you sign over the right for them to come in when needed as long as there is notice. Unless there is some sort of emergency. Common sense tells you to put valuables away if you know they are coming in and you won't be there. Lyon does suck and they gouge your deposit. Don't bother cleaning when you move out because they charge you cleaning fees anyway. What do you expect from a old ghetto style apartment anyway that has never been updated. The person who wrote the response above to the post clearly has a issue and doesn't really make a lot of sense. If you have to go through and make sure things are ok with your apartment before you move then there will be some issues. I did not do anything and they just charged me like $80.00 to clean. Grow up and accept the fact that this place is just a run down apartment complex. Of course they don't care. It's a business. Class action lawsuits do not anything. The company will continue to do whatever it wants because in the end, any type of lawsuit money that is rewarded will just be made up by raising the rent and loses will reported on the corporate taxes to balance it out. I bet the office had a good laugh when told of the large sign and if you have to put up cameras in your apartment then you clearly have no life. I do not work at the Vineyards or am I affiliated with Lyon in any way. I am just a former tenant.

To BooVineyards there have been several folks who did not pay a deposit moving in, but they had to pay going out regardless and it is usually somewhere between $300-$400. This anonymous idiot's response is suspicious. Everyone values their privacy and decent people observe and abide by laws that are put in place to them. Don't listen to his nonsense, because there are places that do care. Do clean your place and take pictures. And yes, class action suits are effective in sending a message to non-compliant co.s like this one. It hits them where it hurts in their pocketbook. As far as the "A-s" fellow above--he is the one needing a life if he was "a former tenant" and he has nothing better to do with his time than to chime in on anyone who makes a comment here.

That is funny that, at least 3 times, the anonymous poster mentioned they were not affiliated with Lyon. YEAH, OK! That is the ONLY review on here that is even HALF way supporting that this place is a decent place to live. PLEASE don't be fooled by that person if you are looking to move in here.. This place is absolutely RIDICULOUS - the people running this place are ridiculous, the practices they employ at Lyon Management is ridiculous, the cash they spend on cabinets which BREAK OFF OF THE WALL when you open them is ridiculous - SHOOT, the fact that they ACTUALLY normally charge around $1,700 for this place is absolutely ridiculous!!! I am SO happy my lease is up in a few months because I am running the heck out of this dump. Anyone who wants to do a class-action lawsuit on these guys for deceptive billing practices, contact me!!!

I only counted once did I say that I was not from Lyon management and if you read the post I clearly bag on them. People need to read better or take a class to learn how to read. I left the above anonymous review that everyone seems to think actually works for Lyon. I hate the vineyards just as much as you do. This place is a ripoff. It sucks all around. Please Read my other review. "70's low quality standard" for a complete description. btw, how is halfway supporting. I never said that I like it. Learn to read. I just said that that is what you expect from apartments, they don't care. They just want your money. Pay your rent and deal with it or go somewhere else. Damn, you people are stupid. No wonder you think class action lawsuits will do something. The internet has created a forum for the uneducated and retarded. If you think that I now work for lyon then you clearly have a learning disability.

uh... Things break so then they send a guy to fix it!! By the way you do not pay utilities twice. I used to live there and you pay the sewer usage through the city. The NWP has the sewer fee that the city charges the property which is then split up amoungst the residents. Do research people because if you dont you end up looking like a moron
