When I first moved in, I loved the place.
After being here for awhile now, I have gotten a real picture of things.
This is not a place to live if you want to be in a gated community- the gates are ALWAYS broken on Aztec. Yes, it is a guarded gate at the front but nothing stops people from coming in the side.
Its quiet if you don't count people with car stereos. People that te office staff go by in carts without saying anything too.
Most of the office staff are just like sales people. One isn't, she sits in the corner by the window, talk to her. The rest of them though just feed you line after line of bullsh*t.
The insulation is horrible. I know these places are old but come on! At least do something about the air that freely blows through the windows.
The maintenance staff is good and friendly. The do respond quickly. Don't let their looks scare you off.
One of my neighbors was robbed... I wonder if this would have happened if this place was truly gated.

It would be a good place to live if they would update the homes to standard. It is in my book a waste of water the way the toilets go on and on and the water facuets are high water as well. The central heat and air doesn't cool or heat. They all need to be replaced. I am so sad now that I know the truth of how it will be here and that we signed the lease for an entire year, yea I am sad for my family.

I for one would have never signed a lease here if I knew I was going to get sick from smelling roofing tar all the time. I moved in in June and soon after started getting sores in my nose and had a cough that would not get better. I only saw them working on one house with the tar but I smelled enough to shut my doors and windows more that three or four times. In August, they worked on two houses near mine and it was at that point that I realized it was the tar that was causing my nose sores and the coughing. After those two weeks my lungs were on fire and I had to go to the doctor. I had to put a mask on my daughter on certain days becuase the fumes were coming in through the cracks in the doors and such. We couldn't go outside, we couldn't open the windows and I freaked out. I started doing research and found out that what they are using is really dangerous. If you got a flyer on your door, I don't know where you live, but I've been passing out flyers. This is a very serious situation because of how long it's been going on--over two years with one year left. They were threatened by the Air Quality DIstrict but kept doing homes anyway, now they finally stopped and took all the asphalt and equipment from behind the pool area away. But they are determined to use tar when they start again in the spring. We cannot let this happen. As it is, there are probably going to be long term health problems because of this. I have reactive airway disease now and have to use an inhaler. I was never like this before.
THe US EPA is giving a presentation about this in January. I'm orgainizing it along with the Sierra Club. Just so you know there are many environmentalists and health agencies that are worried about us out here. Some of those chemicals cause cancer and are even linked to a fast acting childhood brain tumor and heart and lung related death increases. The media will not cover it so I need help getting the word out.
CHeck out my website at www.myspace.com/nomoretarroofs.
They could use a better roofing method that would insulate the roof and also cool it down in the summer but they are CHOOSING not to.
I need volunteers to help me get signatures on the petition.
