Horrible horrible experience!

I?ll agree that this apartment complex was good at the beginning, but quickly turned into the ghetto. The HUD property next to the Legacy created a lot of problems, including kids running, skating, biking, and riding motorized scooters through the property, doing laps and making rude comments. At at least one spot along between the two properties, the fence had been broken in and boards were missing. It was fairly obvious that our neighbors were dealing drugs, with the constant flow of foot traffic. Our other neighbor had other people living there illegally, breaking the terms for her Section 8. Most of our neighbors had three or more cars, so parking quickly became a nightmare. Driving through the property, I couldn?t believe the trash I saw, not just the people, but the piles that people left around their front doors.
One guy would sit on his loud motorcycle, tune and rev it over and over, shaking the walls, for a good 15 minutes, several times a day. He also had a big 4x4 truck that would take up more than one spot. The roommate, or boyfriend, of one of the management representatives living on site would drive his modified mustang through the parking lot dangerously close behind other residents, harassing them. Their friends all had modified cars and were constantly visiting, taking up the unassigned parking!
The interiors of the apartments look nice on the surface, but it is fairly obvious that they just slapped on some new paid, rounded corners, and put on new counters, doors and windows, but we found old nails sticking out of walls, screws falling out of the A/C, the washer and dryer were old and problematic. Worst of all, the hot water heater needed to be replaced and we would run out of hot water after 5 minutes or so?
When we moved in we were told that the water, among other utilities, were paid, but about a month before we moved out, I started getting water bills. I contacted the water company and was told that the apartment management had given them our information and told them to bill us. We never agreed to this, and our information was given to this third party without our permission. I continued to get bills for several months after we moved out of that apartment as well.
They were nice enough to let us out of our lease early, but only because the floor plan we got has a huge walk in closet that was in high demand. Considering what we paid for rent and deposit, I would easily rate this as the worst apartment complex I have ever had the displeasure to live in! At least the maintenance and cleaning staff got more out of the deal from their daily adventures in trash diving through the dumpsters around the complex!!!
