I lived here for almost 9 months and my lease will be up pretty soon. It is my first apartment. I live upstairs in a 1 x 1. It is small, but it has a nice big bathroom and since I live by myself it works out for me.
When I first moved in, I had some loud neighbors next door who would talk really loudly and I can hear them through my bedroom walls, this would happen really late at night and I had to be up at 6 in the morn for work! This would be the only thing I didn't like, the walls are really thin!
Giving it a few days before I complain, the noisy neighbors actually settled down and either moved out or stopped talking at night. People usually keep to themselves, it is pretty quiet and I feel safe when I come home late at night. It is a nice quiet place to come home to after a long day at work.

I completely agree with you with regard to the thin walls. I can hear my neighbors talk, close their kitchen cabinet doors, and run their garbage disposal.
