I lived here one year last year and had no problems. The 1 bedrooms are wonderful with a big balcony, and 2 closets in the bedroom, one being a small walk-in. You have a stackable washer/dryer in all the units with a huge 3-sided kitchen and lots of cabinets, and most the units have woodburning fireplaces. It's very clean and bright, I've checked out some apartments that have smelly carpets or ugly lenoleum but you won't get that feeling here. I don't know if the walls are sound proof or maybe I luckily had incredibly quiet neighbors but I never heard any noises through the walls. My balcony actually faced the busy corners of Walegra & Antelope. I thought the traffic would be the only bad side of it but actually I got used to it quickly and the privacy of not having any neighbors seeing inside my balcony turned out to be the plus! (trees actually hide traffic view of your balcony) As far as management, I've never had a problem. They usually come out by the next day unless it's your toilet or something then they can come out right away, and they have for me! They send out newsletters every other month with news and fun articles or recipes which I thought was really cute. They try to have activities that you can attend which I did and met a couple new friends. I've gotta say that The Oaks is kind of seperated in two sections and the section where the rental office is located, where my apt was, seems to be quieter than the other section, the other side of Holworthy Way. The fitness center is actually better than a lot of apartments I've seen with a good amount of equipment, 2 t.v.'s, well ventilated, not grungy looking. I'm starting to sound like I work for the apartments or something but I don't! Actually, I had to move from there because I started school and moved back in with parents but now I want to move back! I just came from there to check out their 2 bedrooms for me and my b/f, but they don't have any available. I'm looking for any other place but with all the apartments I've seen, it's hard to beat what I know of the Oaks. Oh and their rates are VERY reasonable, they are very worth it.
