New, over priced

I moved here in 2003 thinking that based on the rental rates(approx 300-400 above normal Antioch rates for a 1B/1B) that somehow the residents would be a cut above the standard Antioch rental crowd. I needed to move at the time and therefore did not have much time to do any homework on the rental market in the Bay Area and I need someplace that would allow my dog. They do allow dogs and no one seems to want to pick up after their own dogs nor does anyone seem to know how to use a dumpster as the trash corrals are consistently a mess. Parking is miserable. Each unit does have a garage but there is little to no guest parking, resulting in visitors blocking garages and other rights of way in the complex. The bathroom is better appointed than the kitchen-seems backwards to me. No water spigots on patios to water your plants with. No place to wash a car here either. Minimal padding under the carpet. You can rent a higher end apartment in Dublin with similiar sq footage for the same price with virtually the same amenities that are offered here. Given that these are NEW, I would pay 900-1000 for the smallest 1B/1B but 1265 is way too high. The 2B/2B caps out at 1775 (1025-1073 sq ft)! You can rent a 3B/2B 1600 sq ft HOUSE 5 miles up the road in Brentwood for 1600-1800 per month!! They talk a good talk about this place and the office staff is very nice, but all in all the property and its residents do not measure up to the advertising.
