Yes, they are remodeling. Sure, the place seems nice. The management is even friendly when you come in as a prospective renter. But once they have your money, they cease to give a "hoot" (you know what I really mean) about you.

There have been three, count 'em, three different management companies running this place in the 2 years I have lived here. ALL of these companies suck! I have a simple problem of a missing screen on my window. I have been asking for a replacement for a year. Nearly every month they lose our rent check and we have to prove to them that we paid. This is so bad that my husband makes a copy of our check before he takes it to the office and hands it to them personally. When I moved in I did the walk-through and there were quite a few things that needed to be fixed. They didn't fix anything at all. These people DO NOT CARE about their tenants. They want us to follow all the rules (and they sure get snippy if you don't), but they feel they are above the rules. Like giving 24 hours before forcing a tenant to empty their entire porch so they can work on the balcony above.

We recieved this notice today when we got home from work. Move everything off our porch by tomorrow. Well, we get home from work about 5pm and need to leave the house again before 7am. Where the hell is the 24 hours in that' Is this reasonable at all' THEN, after we are already irritated about that, they sent a lackey to our door to present us with a 3 day pay or quit when we have already paid our rent. They always want our cooperation. They demand it in fact. But they are NEVER cooperative with their tenants in these matters. Beleive me, we are a quiet little family in the back of the complex. We don't cause trouble. We pay our rent on time. We treat the complex with respect and follow their inane rules. What do we get out of it' Oh we do get something. We get to be treated like "poop" (again, you get the idea).

My point is: save yourself a lot of annoyance, irritation and anger. DO NOT move to Mira Vista Hills/ Runaway Bay.
